Bolts, Beavers, and Beverages!

The Wild Mile extension is under way!

Gardens Galore

All thanks to our volunteers!

Our Wild Mile extension is IN THE WATER! Thanks to countless hours of work by our River Rangers, our new floating artificial wetlands are almost ready to be mulched and planted. If you would like to get involved with the install, you can sign up to volunteer at https://urbanrivers.galaxydigital.com/

We Block Partied!

Huge thanks to everyone who joined us for the 3rd Annual Wild Mile Block Party last month! Almost 700 people joined us to explore the Wild Mile, enjoy a local beer, and participate in activities hosted by our partner organizations. It’s inspiring to see the community come together to celebrate the river, and as we reflect on this year’s Block Party, we’re deeply grateful for the support of the organizations, volunteers, and neighbors who make our work possible!

It’s Baby Beaver Season!

In summer of 2022, visitors to the Wild Mile were treated to an absolutely delightful sight; a baby beaver snacking on the gardens’ lush foliage. This year, we have yet another adorable baby joining us to forage on summer evenings. For the best chance of seeing our new furry friend, visit the Wild Mile around dusk, and keep an eye on the spaces under the towering Swamp Rosemallow!

August Events Calendar

We have lots of cool events happening in August, including a few hosted by community partners! Event descriptions and RSVP links can always be found on the events page of our website.

Office Insights

We’ve all been hard at work installing new gardens, and Bubba is no exception. Here’s what our Head of Goose Relations has been up to lately.

Socializing, to keep volunteer morale high.

Resting up. There’s still plenty of work to be done, and we should all remember to pace ourselves.

Soliciting donations (we don’t know where he got this bone. He just left the office and returned with it 30 seconds later).

Modeling workplace safety. Especially crucial in an active construction zone!

Stop by our install volunteer shifts to catch a glimpse of this hardworking team member on the job!
