Eurydice - Snails on a Bike

  • Wild Mile 905 W Eastman St Chicago United States (map)

Sarah Ruhl’s Eurydice is a contemporary adaptation that reimagines the myth of Orpheus through Eurydice’s eyes as she journeys to the Underworld and reencounters her deceased father. It is a story of trees and stones, rooms made of string and strings tied around fingers. Underneath the music of falling rain, it is a story of how to love someone across great distance and how the people we’ve lost live on in memory.

About Snails on a Bike: Snails on a Bike is a Chicago-based theatre collective specializing in performing plays in site-specific, found spaces. We are most excited about work that explores the intricacy of human relationships; all the messiness and beauty of what it means to love in our current social context. We are dedicated to fostering a collaborative and consent-forward environment, where each artist is free to contribute and advocate for themselves and their ideas. snailsonabike.com/ Instagram: @snailsonabike
