WMWS: Water Quality and the Nitrogen Cycle with Joe Cannon

  • Wild Mile 905 W Eastman St Chicago United States (map)

Kicking off our summer workshop series is Joe Cannon, a long-time River Ranger. In a former life, he directed a biomedical research lab and taught college courses in physiology, anatomy and immunology.  These days, he volunteers at the Shedd Aquarium water quality lab and guides middle school kids in aquatic STEM activities.

Joe will lead an expedition through the Wild Mile in search of the flora and fauna that transform and transport essential nitrogen compounds in the ecosystem, along with opportunities for hands-on water testing.
